The official Interfaith Muse: Call for Artists

Now seeking artists in all media and writers in all genres to participate in Interfaith Muse: Artists in Conversation (Two events between May and August 2016; Exact dates TBD with in collaboration with participants.)

What we seek: Emerging or established artists and writers whose work engages spiritual questions. Participants are interested in sharing their work (reading, performance, display) and discussing their art-making process and spirituality in dialogue with one or more artists during an evening event. We seek a freshness of voice and approach, and eagerness to participate in conversation. We prioritize showcasing a range of artists and writers across faiths and demographics, especially those from historically marginalized groups.

What we do: Interfaith Muse is a reading and conversation event that connects Portlanders of all faith backgrounds with writers and artists whose work engages spiritual questions. As we do with religion and spirituality, we define art broadly, but rigorously. Featured participants will 1. share their work and 2. engage in a joyful, thought-provoking, authentic conversation about faith and art-making with one or more artists or writers.

Compensation: Portion of door donations and an opportunity to sell work and merchandise.
